Jordan 🇯🇴
If you are tired of living on this home planet and like to escape, just visit Jordan.
Jordan was our 50th country, in a way it's a BIG milestone on our travel trail
Looking back all the places we have been, our journey, joy and memories passed beyond all expectations. Life has seen new meaning, purpose perhaps, what else we could do better exploring the heaven before our eyes closes forever. Of course we are hard working couple, but we are lucky given the resources we enjoy, and forever grateful for all explored and about to step in to a place that will take us on a journey to a new world. If you ever wanted to escape home plane, you visit Jordan, you come to the Dead Sea where you float effortless, or Wadi Rum to feel how Martian life would look like.
We have planned the routes and places to stay beforehand, provided our itineraries to Petra Nights Tours ( http://www.petranightstours.com ). The tour company was highly rated on TripAdvisor, and we made the best possible choice.
Petra Nights Tours arranged private tour for two of us based on our itineraries.
This company assisted us from Amman airport for 5D/4N trip, and dropped us back to the airport at the end of our trip.
We were greeted by our tour company at Amman airport. On arrival they were ready with all document required to go through the immigration. From Amman airport we were hen taken to Dead Sea, about 1400 feet below sea level, rich with oxygen and high pressure. An empty sealed plastic water bottle would squeeze inward by the time you reach to Dead Sea level.
Dead Sea:
Our first night we would be staying at the lowest point on dry earth, Kempinski Hotel Ishtar is probably the most magnificent facility in this area, your luxury stay would be checked here and just the begining. From here we would be visiting Aqaba, Wadi Rum, Petra and return here again to explore the Dead Sea. Out next stay here would be Hilton Resort & Spa
About two million years ago, due to tectonic activity the region was isolated from the main body of sea water. Since then, evaporation removed water from the body leaving densely salt water behind. No visible LIFE here, salt concentration is 8.5 times higher than ocean makes super easy to float here. This dead salt-rich lake is bordered by Jordan and Israel. It’s mineral-rich black mud is famous for therapeutic and cosmetic treatments.
Wadi Rum:
We have seen nothing like Wadi Rum desert. The vastness and beauty is beyond imagination. Wadi Rum is now 1 of top 5 natural wonder for us. We explored Wadi Rum with Abu Yusuf, a local Bedouin (nomadic Arab tribe). Camel ride, walk, long sleepless night, I have seen heaven moving across the sky. Remember the movie “Martian”, it was filmed here for no other reason but this is what it gets close to Mars. Truly it’s an unearthly land.
Petra:
Who does not heard about Petra? Jordan’s most famous archaeological site located in southwestern desert, UNESCO world heritage site and about 2500 years old. History, architecture and landscapes; this place is mesmerizing with ancient ingenuity and a dream destination for all travelers.

Visited Places
-Dead sea (only 37 miles from Amman)
-Wadi Rum (few miles away from Aqaba)
-Petra (less than 2 hours drive from Aqaba, 3 hours from Amman)
-Aqaba (3 hours drive from Amman)
This region is filled with history of Abrahamic religions Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The story I like the most is prophet Lot’s wife who turned into a salt pillar and still can be seen near the Dead Sea, up in the mountain.
The story is, believed by many Christians the wife of prophet Lot looked back when the city of Sodom and Gommorah destroyed, The angel who brought the message to save Lot’s family vividly warned them not to look back. Out of curiosity, Lot’e wife looked back. God turned her into a pillar of salt. Islamic story is slightly different, but similar to this event.
This place is located near the north of Red sea, border between Jordan and Israel.

Suggested
Jordan is a very small country and so much to see. It just 1 to maximum 3 hours drive between Amman, Dead Sea, Petra, Wadi Rum makes it easy to explore within few days. Traveling with a tour company like “Petra Nights Tours” or other individual would make the trip efficient and navigate through many other places and attractions on the road.
Jordan would remain number #1 in Middle East, and within top 10 around the globe on our travel list.
