Alaska | USA 🇺🇸

The Last Frontier

Alaska BIG, it is so BIG you can return here 10 times to explore the state. State is about one-fifth the size of mainland USA combined with 48 states. It is our most favorite destination in North America. We visited Alaska twice. To explore Alaska, you must head out for a road trip, keep driving as far as you can. To arrive here, you would probably fly into Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city and gateway to adventure.
Few facts here, why Alaska should be on the top of your travel list in North America.

- Highest mountain peak. Denali,”The Great One”, is at 20,320 feet
- 3,000 rivers and 3,000,000 lakes in Alaska
- about 100,000 glaciers
- more than 100 volcanoes
- more coastline than the rest of the United States combined
- In Fairbanks, northern lights can be seen more than half a year
- Number of bear population 1:20 people
- Part of Alaska (Barrow) sun does set for 3 months, and you can’t see sun for 2 months
- USA purchased Alaska from Russia at price tag $7.2 million, 1867, This is about $133 million today, or 37 cents per acre

Alaska is remote, world doesn’t come this far to see its vastness. Wilderness of mightly Alaska will remain this way for long because of its isolation from rest of the world, and of course it will require U.S. visa to enter. I was in Switzerland, explored the country, without a doubt its a magnificent place to visit. Switzerland is often called Heaven on Earth. When I visited Alaska, I thought people got it wrong, they yet to visit Alaska. In my mind, people have been living in the wrong Heaven for long. Here Heaven is empty, and you need an extraordinary plan to roam the Heaven, you need to be lucky.

Best part of our two trips was exploring Denali on a small aircraft and landed on glacier. Mountain was covered 4000 feet of ice, what you see from here are the peaks, standing on 4000 feet of ice I thought -Nothing else matter, everything can wait. Alaska is probably the most magnificent creation of all that we know.

2nd Trip to Alaska

Our second trip to Alaska was unplanned. I wish I didn’t have to share this story. 8000 miles away in Bangladesh, I lost my Ma. was with her earlier the year, she was fighting terminal disease. I knew her time was coming to end, never ready to see her go. COVID and travel restrictions around, I decided to head out and keep driving as far as can. In my mind, I thought may be this is the best way to let her know that I will be OK. I will continue to do what I am good at, what she wanted me to be, happy. So my entire road trip was the memory of my Ma. I know nature doesn’t allow unconditional love between two living things except Ma. Without it, you and I wouldn’t be here today. Every relationship takes a two way path, every single one, EXCEPT Ma. Without her, I feel scared. This is an unforgiving world ahead of me, the path may be slippery. If I fall, I must get up with her strength within me, I must explore to know unknowns.
